After pulling the Carroccio and its dignitaries across the city to the Duomo for blessings, the great white oxen are unhitched and prepared to be transported in their trailer.
With the yokes removed from the oxen, the handlers begin to guide the animals toward their trailer.
A handler guides an ox into the trailer. The big animal won’t budge at first, but the handler eventually motivates it to go up the ramp.
The oxen are secure in their trailer, ready to be returned to the countryside until they’re needed again.
